Adovate Partners with CvilleBioHub, VEDP, and the University of Virginia to Develop Virginia’s Next Generation of Biotechnology Talent
Charlottesville, VA – August 24, 2026 – Adovate, LLC (“Adovate” or the “Company”), a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapeutics targeting the adenosine receptors, today announced the successful completion of its 2026 summer internship initiative through two Virginia workforce development programs: the CvilleBioHub Charlottesville Internship Program (CHIP) and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) InternshipsVA Program.
Through these complementary initiatives, Adovate welcomed four University of Virginia undergraduate interns during Summer 2026. Two Chemistry Laboratory Interns were supported through the CvilleBioHub CHIP program, while two additional interns, an AI Workflow & Business Systems Intern and a Strategy & Operations Intern, were supported through VEDP’s InternshipsVA Program.
The internship cohort represented multiple disciplines across the University of Virginia, bringing together students with backgrounds in chemistry, economics, computer science, and related fields. Together, they contributed to projects spanning laboratory research, artificial intelligence, business strategy, and company operations while gaining firsthand experience inside a growing clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company.
Through the CvilleBioHub CHIP program, Adovate hired two Chemistry Laboratory Interns who worked alongside the company’s chemistry team supporting research and development activities. The interns gained hands-on experience in laboratory operations, synthesis support, analytical testing, scientific documentation, and drug discovery research.
Through VEDP’s InternshipsVA Program, Adovate welcomed an AI Workflow & Business Systems Intern and a Strategy & Operations Intern. These positions provided students with direct exposure to executive leadership while contributing to high-impact initiatives spanning artificial intelligence implementation, operational excellence, business strategy, and organizational development.
“As Adovate continues to grow, investing in the next generation of life sciences talent is an important part of our mission,” said Uday Gupta, CFO/COO of Adovate. “We are fortunate to have access to exceptional talent at the University of Virginia. These students quickly became valuable members of our team, bringing curiosity, initiative, and fresh perspectives to meaningful projects. Programs like CvilleBioHub CHIP and VEDP’s InternshipsVA create a powerful bridge between Virginia’s universities and its growing biotechnology sector.”
The internship experience was intentionally designed to provide students with meaningful responsibility, mentorship from experienced professionals, and direct exposure to the multidisciplinary nature of biotechnology, from laboratory research to executive decision-making.
“Our participation in both programs demonstrates the strength of Virginia’s innovation ecosystem,” Gupta added. “Partnerships among the University of Virginia, CvilleBioHub, VEDP, and companies like Adovate are helping build the skilled workforce that will drive the Commonwealth’s biotechnology industry forward.”
Adovate plans to continue expanding its internship program during the 2026–2027 academic year, including additional laboratory opportunities for University of Virginia students interested in chemistry, biology, engineering, and related scientific disciplines.
